Call for Presentations

Dear colleagues,
After the success of the Mpal and Dagana seminars, ATES branch of Saint Louis will be running two seminars in early May, respectively in Aere Lao (May 9)and in Pete (May 10). 
To this end, we are launching a call for presentations on the following topics:

1. Developing Students' Writing Skills.
2. Teaching Grammar Communicatively.
3.Testing & Evaluation: Summative and Formative Assessment. The American Fulbright Assistant at UGB, Erin Saint-Peter, has volunteered to deal with the "Testing"  presentation.

Interested candidates should send the abstract  or the powerpoint file of their presentation to the ATES pedagogical board no later than May 3rd. Please, send your proposal to our blog moderator:atessaintlouisofficial@gmail.com

We look forward to receiving many proposals.

Dagana Seminar Review

Thanks to all teachers and presenters who attended our seminar in Dagana this Saturday!  78 teachers were warmly welcomed by colleagues at Abdoulaye Wade High School for a presentation on preparing students for national exams.  Mathiam Thiam was the main speaker and he was followed by discussions on ATES activities, cell coordination, and English club activities.  Mathiam's presentation can be found by clicking here or by visiting the "presentations" page at the top of the site.

Join us for a Seminar in Dagana Saturday, April 19th!

Please join colleagues for a professional development seminar this Saturday in Dagana.  Our guest speaker will be Mathiam Thiam from FASTEF and he will be discussing subjects related to preparing students for national exams.  We are helping with transportation for colleagues from Podor and Saint-Louis so that this can really be an opportunity for many of us to share.   Please look at the flyer below for details about the event, transportation logistics, and other info.
